Hello Blog- How have you been?

Wow- August was my last post... Crazy how time flies when you are having fun! However a sarcastic of a comment that might be, it is the truth. Here we are 4 months later, I have had TONS of feedback opportunities, and I have not followed through on many of them.

This is not that different from how feedback works in the workplace. Employees have a quarterly or an annual review, and during that time in between reviews much is forgotten and there are many missed opportunities.

This morning at the dentist office they wished me a happy holiday season because it is just around the corner. And just like the holidays, year end reviews are sitting there waiting.

Participants on both sides of the review are anxious in anticipation. The supervisor who has not interacted with the employee does not know what to say. And the employee waits nervously for the supervisor to offer real feedback, for job-insurance and/or personal growth.

iLoveFeedback classes break down the anticipation. In the class you learn how to effectively deliver feedback. You learn how to prepare yourself for the feedback session and are able to have an effective conversation. By walking into the annual review, or feedback session calm and prepared, the conversation flows more easily, and both participants gain so much more by engaging in conversation. The anticipation decreases, the conversation flows, and feedback feels and sounds like the gift that it really is.

I am putting a plug in for the December 8, 2009 iLoveFeedback class. Learn how to effectively deliver feedback before that end-of-the-year review. Engage in the conversation of effective feedback. Click here to sign up for the class... or e-mail me for more information.
